Spiritual Youth for Reproductive Freedom (SYRF)

What We Are

SYRF is our dynamic umbrella program for work that engages young people, students, and emerging leaders in reproductive justice through a spiritually grounded and values-driven lens. Rooted in an inclusive, interfaith approach, our SYRF work empowers young people to explore the connections between faith, bodily autonomy, and human dignity while building the skills and networks needed to lead meaningful change in their communities.

What We Do

Campus Engagement

We partner with universities, seminaries, and youth-led organizations to bring conversations about reproductive justice into academic, religious, and community spaces. SYRF leads lectures, workshops, panels, and classroom discussions that invite participants to explore the ethical, spiritual, and social dimensions of reproductive health and freedom.

Leadership Development

SYRF invests in the next generation of leaders by providing hands-on learning opportunities. Through internships and collaborative projects, participants gain experience in organizing and advocacy work at the intersection between faith and reproductive freedom.

Support for Care Providers

We work with students and professionals in healthcare fields—especially those training in reproductive and sexual health—to help them better respond to the spiritual needs of their patients.

Youth-Led Advisory Work

SYRF collaborates with youth councils and advisory groups to help young voices shape the future of reproductive freedom work. By supporting youth-led initiatives and offering strategic guidance, we help build movements that are inclusive, multi-generational, and future focused.

Bridging the Gaps

We are proud of serving as a bridge between communities that are too often separated. We bring conversations about reproductive freedom into seminaries and other faith-based spaces, as well as a faith-informed and culturally competent lens into medical, nursing, and other healthcare settings. By working across these spaces, SYRF helps cultivate caregivers who can navigate the spaces where religion and healthcare overlap, challenge harmful narratives, and build more holistic, person-centered approaches to care.
